Journey
Aphelele Gule, known as Apple Gule, is an accomplished singer-songwriter, producer, and alternative pop artist whose work bridges his origins in the Kingdom of Eswatini with the vibrant music scene of Johannesburg, South Africa. His career began organically, discovering his vocal talent while in a recording studio with a friend, which ignited his commitment to a full-time musical path. Gule integrated R&B, soul, pop, and house music into a sophisticated sonic profile, resisting simple categorization because of his fluid approach to genre.
Gule's distinctive sound, built upon honest, narrative-driven lyricism, is influenced by John Legend, The Weeknd, and 6lack. His discography reflects a steady evolution, featuring the EPs “Handwritten “(2016), “SWAZiKiD”(2017), and the self-titled “Gule”(2022).
Beyond his solo output, he has engaged in notable collaborations within the South African music industry, including high-profile features with DJ Zinhle and producer Kyle Watson on the track "Solace".
A major milestone happened in 2022 when Gule secured a worldwide record and publishing deal with the David Gresham Entertainment Group. This partnership has helped facilitate his exploration of new musical territories, notably a pioneering "country-African fusion" sound. His 2025 single "Grizzly," a collaboration with Zulu lyricist Anzo, exemplifies this innovative direction, which Gule views as an authentic embrace of his cultural roots and the rich tradition of African storytelling.
